Our story, so far!
My name is Eoin, and here’s a little about my story and how I came to create Hostylie.
Rise on Social Media as an Influencer
My story begins during my rise as a Content Creator on YouTube - beginning with “funny” sketches made on my phone in my bedroom, I quickly amassed over 100k subscribers on YouTube and became Ireland’s biggest teenage influencer in 2018 and 2019. I posted various types of content - from comical rants to travel videos, and my popularity spread across all platforms, eventually reaching over 250,000 followers over all of my profiles - at the ripe age of 16.
Working with global brands
As my social media pages grew larger and larger, companies from both Ireland and abroad began to approach me to work on their marketing campaigns - and I fell in love. I began working on numerous brand deals and was hired by various businesses to work with them - some of these included EA Sports, Primark, Lynx/Axe, and YouNow. I even ran my own merchandise store - selling over 150 products in 6 days!
Falling out of love with social media, and turning to travel.
As the pressures and boring sh*t built up in my life (school), my content output gradually slowed down until my heart just wasn’t in it anymore. Before long, I became the usual-confused-kid who didn’t know what to do with his life - I ended up travelling through 20 countries in Europe and Africa, solo, on what became the biggest and best decision of my life. I made the most incredible memories and created my new-found love for hostels! It was then, that it struck me… Why not combine my expertise in social media and my passion for travel?
Yep, that’s how I created Hostylie.
At the crux of this very-basic-fairytale-story, I began working my b*llox off on creating my dream company, Hostylie. Founded in 2024 from my base in Ireland, I can proudly say that I have regained my passion and am fulfilling my dreams in this world. Hostylie has allowed me to amalgamate everything I love in life - social media, marketing, travel, the wonderful world of hostels, and combine them into a business that fills all of my core principles. While I’m still young (I’m only 20!) and have a lot to learn, I know I’ve found my place in this world.
